Storypark

We use Storypark which is an online program that allows us to document children’s learning and share it with families. Through the use of Storypark we are able to upload photos and videos of the children whilst engaging in our environment and use these experiences to document and assess each child’s learning and development.

Storypark also offers a platform where we can communicate with families through private conversations and also whole community posts. This feature allows all families within our community to know what is happening and be involved in special events that are happening throughout the centre.

Through Storypark, our educators write learning stories on each child as they engage in independent learning experiences and group learning experiences. Each day, families who have children enrolled in our long-daycare rooms will be sent an update of what the group of children have been up to throughout the day. Families who have children enrolled in our Kindergarten programs will receive a weekly journal with an overview of the week, allowing families to connect with their child whilst at Kids Resort. Families currently at our service have shared feedback that receiving these updates allows them to converse with their children at home about their day and become more involved in their child’s learning and development.

Families can access Storpark through the website and it is also available to download as an app on apple and android devices. By installing the app you will receive notifications instantly when a story has been published about your child. Families are also able to comment on the stories published by educators.

Storypark is an invaluable tool to our service, allowing us to connect with all families daily. An added bonus of Storypark is that families have lifetime access to their child's online portfolio, allowing families to look back on their child's early years of education. 

We are located in a beautiful area, and we take advantage of this by conducting local excursions with our Kindergarten children. The children and educators head out on excursions to the local park, the lake and the supermarket. 

The children absolutely love heading out on excursions, and during these experiences, the children are given the opportunity to gain a better understanding of their local community. 

We often link our excursions to our educational program, such as taking a trip to the supermarket to buy ingredients for a cooking experience that the group will be doing or going on a nature walk through the park to collect natural resources for art experiences.
